Dear Sorors and Friends,
It is my honor and privilege to welcome you to the home of the Sigma Sigma Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. In January 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority became America’s first Greek-letter organization established by African American Women. It was our moving spirit (Ethel Hedgenem Lyle), who formulated and implemented her magnificent vision of creating an instrument for enriching the social and intellectual aspects of college life via a sisterhood. 97 years later…..Sigma Sigma Chapter was chartered on April 24, 2005 on the campus of Clayton State University. Our main goal is to continue to perpetuate the purpose of our illustrious sisterhood with demonstrating “Service to all Mankind”. In Praise of our founders, we celebrate 100 years of service. Sigma Sigma continues to serve on campus as well as within our community. We do so by enthusiastically carrying out the heart of ESP: an Extraordinary Service Program of Economics Service and Partnership, which is implemented through five Platforms of Service. In closing, we would like to thank you for your continued support of the Sigma Sigma Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. We would like to give special thanks to our graduate chapter Pi Alpha Omega for all of their guidance. Please feel free to virtually tour our history, programs, and up coming events.
Sincerely,
Nykia Lewis
President -- Sigma Sigma Chapter
